The SILC membership represents the interests of New Jersey’s cross disability population. By law, a majority of the Council are people with disabilities. Voting members include: advocates for people with disabilities, representatives from private businesses, disability-related organizations, and CIL directors. Non-voting ex officio members include representatives from Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS).

Members of the NJ Statewide Network for Cultural Competence seek to grow and share in the knowledge and skills necessary to serve people from diverse populations and communities. We achieve this goal by bringing together subject matter experts to discuss best practices, and by providing educational and informational sessions for all stakeholders, including government, public, private, not-for-profit, community-based audiences, families and people with lived experiences. We strive to create an environment of mutual respect, caring, inclusiveness and belonging.

P2P is a statewide network of parents (mothers, fathers, and caregivers) supporting families of children with developmental delays, disabilities, mental health challenges and special health needs. As trained support parents, we offer emotional support and information and act as a valuable resource to families. We offer assistance in learning the necessary skills to help parents face the challenges of raising their children. We are not counselors or therapists. We are parents who have experienced the feelings that come after learning that our children have a developmental delay, disability, or other special health needs. We offer moral support and encourage parents to feel comfortable and optimistic about the future.

Special rates are available for seniors 62 years of age* or older and people with disabilities. Personal assistants ride for free when proper identification is presented by the person with a disability.

The aim of the ADA is to ensure that all people with disabilities can fully and equally participate in all aspects of American society.
