The aim of the ADA is to ensure that all people with disabilities can fully and equally participate in all aspects of American society.

The New Jersey Department of Education (DOE) Office of Special Education (OSE) is responsible for implementing state and federal laws and regulations governing special education to ensure that students with disabilities in New Jersey receive full educational opportunities, improved outcomes and ensure consistency.

The Schedule A Hiring Authority for people with disabilities (Schedule A) is an exception to the traditional hiring process. Schedule A streamlines the hiring process for persons with disabilities and, in some instances, hiring officials may select solely from a list of qualified Schedule A applicants.

The Association of People Supporting Employment First (APSE) is the only national membership organization focused exclusively on Employment First to facilitate the full inclusion of people with disabilities in the workplace and community. Employment First means that employment in the general workforce should be the first and preferred option for individuals with disabilities receiving assistance from publicly-funded systems - real jobs, for real wages.

PBS, New Jersey’s public media network, brings quality arts, education, and public affairs programming to all 21 counties in the state. NJ PBS engages with the communities it serves through regular studio tours, internship opportunities, local program screenings, and town hall-style convenings that highlight topics from healthcare, housing and poverty to education and the environment.
